GeoSWMM Version 5.7
June 24, 2026
GeoSWMM 5.7 introduces enhancements to the Watershed Delineation Tool and Profile Plot Tool. This release focuses on workflow automation, stronger input validation, and improved user feedback during profile generation. Together, these updates enhance the efficiency, consistency, and reliability of common modeling workflows.
Key Improvements
Watershed Delineation Tool
This release introduces several usability and workflow enhancements to the Watershed Delineation Tool:
- Updated window titles and naming conventions provide a clearer and more consistent user experience.
- Refined workflow controls ensure that prerequisite steps are completed before advancing to subsequent stages of the delineation process, helping reduce configuration errors.
- The enhanced Specify Subcatchment Outlets step provides greater flexibility when assigning custom subcatchment outlets within sewer pipe networks.
Together, these improvements streamline watershed delineation workflows and provide greater control when defining drainage connectivity.
Profile Plot Tool
This release introduces several usability enhancements to the Profile Plot Tool:
- The Find Path workflow now displays a progress indicator during path identification and provides a completion notification when path generation is successfully completed, offering clear feedback throughout the process.
- Additional interface refinements improve visual clarity and the overall user experience.
Resolved Issues
Issue Name | Description |
|---|---|
Headwater Stream Segment Threshold Validation | Added validation to warn users when the specified headwater stream segment threshold is below the minimum detectable stream segment length. |
Minimum Headwatershed Area Validation | Added validation to ensure the specified minimum headwatershed area falls within the valid range supported by the DEM. |
Profile Plot Support for Numeric Node Names | Resolved a rare issue affecting path generation and profile visualization in models that use numeric node identifiers. The Profile Plot Tool now supports both numeric and alphanumeric node names. |
