The user can create a new GeoSWMM project by selecting New in the Project Menu list or by clicking on the () button. GeoSWMM will create a model geodatabase in the user specified directory. Note that ArcMap must have an appropriate projected coordinate system in order to create a GeoSWMM new project geodatabase.
The user can select the Open option from the Project menu or click on the () button in order to open any previously saved GeoSWMM project geodatabase.
The user can select the Save option from the Project menu or click on the () button in order to save the current project file.
If the user wants to save the opened project under a different name, this option can be used. Clicking on the Save as () button allows the user to save the current opened project under a different name on a different path on their computer.
This option allows the user the flexibility of saving a copy of the current project clicking on the “Save a Copy” button (). However, it should be noted that using this option does not save the changes made to the project after opening it in GeoSWMM rather it saves the version of the project that was saved previously.
The user can select the Close option from the Project menu or click on the () button in order to close the current project file.
Any modification made in the geodatabase layers can be saved and updated into the SWMM model components by selecting the Reload option or by clicking on the () button.
Project Details is a preview of the SWMM model input file. After assigning the model parameters in GeoSWMM, the user can view the summary of these inputs by selecting the Project Details option or by clicking on the () button.
GeoSWMM allows the user to export the model input file for EPA-SWMM 5.1. This exported file can be readily opened in EPA-SWMM 5.1 for subsequent simulation, analysis and reporting. The input file can be exported by selecting the EPA-SWMM Input File under Export in the Project Menu.
The Recent Projects option displays a list of the five most recent GeoSWMM projects used. The user may select and open any of them in ArcMap.
