Model Simulation

The 48-hour duration was chosen for simulation time so that the full effect of the drawdown of the WQCV in the detention pond could be observed. Finally, it is suggested to increase the number of significant figures (from 2, the default value, to 4) for the subcatchment parameter Runoff and the Node parameters Quality and Total Inflow by selecting GeoSWMM Project | Settings | Preferences | Decimals from Subcatchment and Nodes tabs. This will help when tabulated results are copied from SWMM to a spreadsheet program to compare results between different runs in cases where variations are small and would not be visible if only two significant figures were used. The resulting input file is named Tutorial_06_Initial.gdb.
The GeoSWMM project files, Tutorial_06_Initial.gdb have been simulated in three scenarios i.e. for 0.1-inch storm, 0.19-inch storm and 2-year storm events. Then the runoff model results for each storm event are compared between with and without treatment. The following section describes simulation result summary.
