Overview of GeoSWMM 2D Menu
The GeoSWMM 2D Menu contains a comprehensive suite of tools designed to facilitate the development and simulation of detailed 2D hydraulic models. Detailed features of these tools can be found in Development of GeoSWMM 2D Project. The available tools under the GeoSWMM 2D Menu include:
· Enable 2D Modeling: The Enable 2D Modeling tool activates the 2D modeling capabilities within GeoSWMM, allowing users to transition from traditional 1D models to more comprehensive 2D models.
· Define Boundary Layer: The Define Boundary Layer tool assists in generating polygon features in the Boundary Layer, which serve as the boundary condition for the extent of 2D grid.
· Create 2D Nodes: The Create 2D Nodes tool creates 2D point features in Nodes 2D layer. These nodes form the foundation for the spatial structure of the 2D model, allowing for a detailed representation of the terrain and hydraulic elements.
· Create 2D Layers: The Create 2D Layers tool populates the Junction 2D, Conduit 2D and Cell 2D layers with the necessary features to represent the hydraulic network of the 2D model. This tool streamlines the creation of a detailed and interconnected grid for 2D flow simulations.
· Connect 1D – 2D: The Connect 1D-2D tool develops connection between the 1D and 2D domains by creating features in the Orifice 2D/ Weir 2D layers or through direct connections. This integration is crucial for accurately modeling the interactions between stormwater drainage systems and overland flow.
· Generate Flood Raster: The Generate Flood Raster tool helps users to export raster files for depicting Maximum Flood Depth and Water Surface Elevation within the defined boundary area.
