Description of Study Area

The study area, having an area of 48.78 acres, is primarily a developed urban land that has a coarse loamy soil type. With the exception of the depressions located in the parkland area, no major changes in topography are found in the study area due to the development. This implies that all the streets, in general, followed the natural slope. As illustrated in Figure 2.1, same number of infiltration trenches and filter strips will be placed in the study area, to control the runoff from almost all the parts of the study area. The strips will be built along the sidewalks so they control runoff from the catchments before it reaches the conduit. Network summary information has been listed in following Table 2.2.
