Initial Model Simulation

Once all the required input parameters have been assigned, save the 2D model. With the initial setup complete, the next step is to perform a preliminary simulation to evaluate model performance and inform 2D grid refinement based on the initial results.

For this tutorial, the model is simulated using a 100-year 24-hour synthetic rainfall event with a 0.5 sec routing time step. This rainfall event is selected for simulation to ensure the 2D grid captures the full extent of inundation for the largest storm. The output from this initial run provides a baseline for evaluating overland flow dynamics and supports further refinement of the model.
