Elevation Manager
The Elevation Manager Tool extracts ground elevation data from a DEM or contour lines. Its primary purpose is to support the visualization of water surface profiles alongside ground elevation data in the Profile Plot. The tool can be accessed from the Preprocessing tools section of the GeoSWMM toolbar by clicking this icon (
). Once the required inputs are provided, the ‘Extract Ground Elevation’ (
) button can be clicked to extract elevation values for the Nodes and Links layers. Upon successful completion, a confirmation message is displayed, and the data become available for visualization in the Profile Plot.
Select Elevation Data Source:
This section specifies the type of elevation dataset that is used to extract ground elevation values. Choose either a Raster Layer or a Contour Layer.
Elevation Layer:
Select a raster or contour layer from the map, or browse to its location, that contains elevation data. This layer is used to extract ground elevation values for all nodes and links in the model.

Elevation Field:
This input is required only when a contour layer is selected as the elevation data source. Select the attribute field in the chosen contour layer that contains elevation values.

After elevation data are successfully extracted from Elevation Data Source Layer, the ground elevation data will be included in the Profile Plot. A sample is shown in Figure 6.51.
