Working with Projects
Set Project Defaults
Each GeoSWMM project may have a set of default values unless the GeoSWMM user overrides them. These values fall into four broad categories:
- Default subcatchment properties e.g. user defined area, width, slope, imperviousness, Manning’s ‘n’ for impervious and pervious area, surface roughness, depth of depression storage and infiltration method.
- Default node properties e.g. node invert, node maximum depth and node ponded area.
- Default link properties e.g. user defined conduit length, conduit geometry and conduit roughness, conduit length type, link offset.
- Model computational options e.g. flow unit, routing method and the force main equation.
To set default values during development of a GeoSWMM project:
- Before model building or layer mapping, go to the Settings and select Project Defaults or click on the (
) button in the GeoSWMM tab. - The Project Defaults setting window will appear with two tabs labeled Subcatchments and Nodes/Links. The node, link and model computational default values are grouped under the Nodes/Links tab.
- Set the desired values for respective parameters and click OK to save the settings. These values will be used in the model if the user does not assign values for those parameters.
